A lot of people hate having to pay the TV Licence. Some people hate it for political reasons, others because they never watch the BBC or because they want to spend that money on other stuff. Yes, the TV licence is to pay for the BBC, it goes towards the cost of making the programmes we watch. Other channels make their money from adverts.
